MTD: Together

Where are you in your MTD journey?

Maybe you’re ahead of the curve 📈. You already know exactly how many of your clients will fall into scope for April 2026, you’ve mapped out thresholds, and you’ve started communications. If that’s you, congratulations 🥳.

But for many professionals, the honest answer looks a lot more like this:

“It’s self assessment season. I’m drowning 😰. I cannot think about MTD again until at least February.”

And if that’s where you are, you’re not failing. You’re normal 😀.

MTD IT is a big deal and can feel like you’re about to start a marathon 🏃‍♀️ while sitting on a couch 🛋️. Doing it entirely on your own isn’t just difficult. It’s unnecessary.

🤫 The Worst-Kept Secret: Nobody Has All the Answers

Over the past year, speaking with hundreds of accountants, tax advisers, and bookkeepers inside Accountants Therapy, I’ve learned something important.

Even the practitioners you think have it all sorted still have unanswered questions.

The point isn’t that you should know everything by now. It’s that you can’t reasonably be expected to.

That’s why support, collaboration, and shared learning have become the most powerful tools for navigating MTD.

🤗 Doing MTD Together Works Better

When you talk with other accountants working through the same challenges, something clicks:

  • You realise you’re not “behind”. You’re just human.
  • You stop wasting time reinventing the wheel 🛞 others have already built.
  • You get to test ideas in a safe environment instead of guessing.
  • You gain clarity faster than if you were working things out alone.

MTD isn’t simply a technical change. It’s an operational and emotional one, particularly for small businesses.

Trying to carry the whole thing in your head while also running a practice and surviving January is a recipe for stress.

🛠️ Practical Support Starts in February

That’s why we’re launching a six-month MTD course starting on 13 February, designed specifically for accountants who don’t want to face this alone.

It’s deliberately structured to work whether you’re starting from zero or already deep into the detail.

Every session includes:

  • 20 to 30 minutes of clear, practical instruction. No jargon. No theory for theory’s sake. Not boring.
  • Small-group peer work and shared planning time, so you leave each session with real decisions made.
  • Course materials and templates you can use immediately.

No previous MTD knowledge is required.

Equally, if you already know quite a bit, this course will help you turn that knowledge into a clear, workable plan with a focus on building confidence.

Even better, the entire programme is included within Accountants Therapy membership. Our mission is to make support accessible, not another source of stress.

👯 You Don’t Have to Do This by Yourself

Whether you’re in full planning mode or still firmly in the “I’ll deal with it in February” phase, the most important step you can take is this: don’t do MTD alone.

Join Accountants Therapy. Share the load. Get clarity. Move forward with people who get it.

Know that when February comes, you’ll really start moving with us.

Because by the time MTD arrives, you’ll want more than a plan. You’ll want a community 🤗 that helped you build it.
